Highlights for February

1. Self-Regulation

We have been learning about different strategies to calm down when we are upset. Some students prefer going for walks around the school or going outside for a walk. Some students prefer to have some quiet time in the sensory room or bouncing on the trampoline. We have also been working on asking for breaks when we feel frustrated. We have better days at school when we are able to regulate and ask for help with our emotions. 

2. Social Interaction

Although we have not been able to interact with the rest of the school, we have been connecting with the school community through Google Meet. We loved being able to see all of the students on the SmartBoard and saying "hello" through the camera. We saw some presentations from the other classes and celebrated the winter carnival during our monthly Google Meet. Bonhomme (snowman) mascot came to each class to say "Good morning" throughout the week of winter carnival.
