Highlights for January

1. Social Interaction

We have been increasing our socialization with the school community (with proper social distancing). Since the weather has been too cold for us to go outside, we have been going on walks around the school. During our walks, we say "hello" to Tuscany students and staff. We make sure that we greet Cindy (Principal), Grant (Assistant Principal), Kat (Admin Secretary), Mrs. Mansy (Librarian), and other staff on our walks. We have also been enjoying spending time and making friends with the other EES class students. We had 2 special Tuscany School community activities that we took part in. Every student in Tuscany School created quilt squares that were made into large quilts. We also participated in the "Tuscany Together" Google Meet, where we watched 2 class presentations and said farewell to Grant as he moved to Wildwood School.

2. Leisure Skills

We took advantage of the warm weather in early January to go out in the community on a nature walk. Some of our students also tried snowshoeing while out in the coulee. They learned a new skill while developing healthy living habits. We also learned how to tie-dye socks as our special art project for January. We reviewed our colours and created unique patterns on our socks. Lastly, we tried following along to dance videos in the gym. We had a dance party and worked up a sweat!
